About the Show

Almost 20 years ago a dream was created… To hold a car show for all those lovers of the hot rods, bikes and road rumbling machines that a boy growing into a man would truly appreciate. This day would be held on no better a day than Fathers Day!

When the car show first started you could look up and down Dayton Street, and it was loaded from Springfield to Dickson Ave with vehicles of all makes and models. There was live music, food and auctions. This event has had such an enormous impact on Kelowna and surrounding areas that it was a must to continue year after year!

Our 2016 Car Show – The Best Ever

This year the show was an even bigger success than ever before! The weather started off a bit rainy, but by 11am we saw floods of people and custom and classic vehicles entering City Park – helping us raise funds for the Angel Awards in support of the Arthritis Society. The event hosted great bands, and amazing cars with some spectacular displays including the Porche Club showing of a range of cars from all different years! The 18th annual car show had many new features, such as a new stage and entertainment rotation including band Rumble 100, and Jada Mckenzie Moore who was the very first Angel Award winner!

In addition, we had a kids fitness and play area put on by the YMCA, and some diverse food options. Just as in years past, the show included a variety of vehicles such as: exotic European cars, imports, luxury vehicles, as well as, a variety of fire trucks and boats.

We’ve crunched the numbers and are extremely proud to announce we were able to donate an impressive $13,243.09 to the Angel Awards in support of the Arthritis Society!

We at Boyd’s would like to give a huge thank you to all of our sponsors, silent auction donators, vendor displays, spectators and especially to all of our volunteers who gave up their weekend to help out a great cause. See you all next year!

In addition, the show also included some of the old favorites such as: dragsters, race cars, big trucks and power boats. Boyd’s 16th Annual Father’s Day Car Show Another Great Success

This year the show was challenged with a less than excitable weather forecast, however somehow just as in years past, the rain eluded the event all day. In spite of the clouds, this year’s turnout was better than ever. This year’s show had many new features, such as a new stage and entertainment rotation, kids fitness and play area, as well as a large diversified waterfront display. Just as in years past, the show included a variety of vehicles such as: exotic European cars, imports, luxury vehicles, side by side and ATVS, as well as pedal bike rentals and numerous food vendors. In addition the show also included some of the old favourites such as dragsters, race cars, big trucks and power boats. Although financials are not yet finalized, we are very confident we reached our goal of raising $10,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research foundation, and are hopeful that we exceeded that by a significant amount. We at Boyd’s would like to give a sincere thank you to all of our sponsors, silent auction donators, vendor displays, and especially to all of our volunteers who gave up their weekend to help out a great cause.

There were over 500 cars, trucks, boats and bikes this year including trucks, classic muscle cars, Ferraris (including an Enzo), motorcycles, 1000 horsepower boats and much more. As mentioned this year’s proceeds will go to Cops for Kids. They are comprised of “dedicated RCMP members and support people of the RCMP South East District that are committed to assisting children that are in medical, physical or traumatic crisis within the Southern Interior Region of British Columbia. Our charitable foundation was formed in 2001 and since inception we have tirelessly worked to raise funds to continue our ongoing support to the children in communities that we serve. Cops for Kids are devoted to helping the little hearts…in our communities!”

This years car show was a great opportunity for Cops for Kids and Boyd Autobody & Glass to work together and help to support the children in the communities they serve, so we would also like to give a special thanks to the general public who made this year’s car show another great success.
